A reimagining of a 1925 Crown Perfumery composition, rebuilt for contemporary wear. Clary sage carries the top — herbal, aromatic, gentlemanly without being old-fashioned. Grey ambergris gives the heart a slightly salty, almost iodic smoothness. Sandalwood closes it. Worn under a linen suit in summer or under a cashmere overcoat in early fall, and it does not flinch in either setting. The kind of fragrance that smells correct in a room full of people who know what correct smells like.
